Commentary on Job 9:16 (Summary)

Job 9:16 (ESV)

16 If I summoned him and he answered me, I would not believe that he was listening to my voice.

Job believes that God would not even listen to him. This shows us something of Job’s spiritual despair at the time. Having received no comfort from his friends and only condemnation, he wrongly assumes that God is also against him.
