1 “Has not man a hard service on earth, and are not his days like the days of a hired hand?

Eliphaz had described the happy life of a righteous man (Job 5:19–26). To Job this is a superficial understanding of life. Life is short and full of troubles. In many respects, human existence is a form of slavery.
