1. Joel 2:13–14 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What can you expect when God accepts you again in grace?

Joel 2:13–14 (ESV)

13 and rend your hearts and not your garments.” Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.

The first thing Joel mentions is a blessing. This may seem vague, but it is an amazing gift. It represents the power from God to accomplish God’s purpose. God has a purpose. That is, he intends to make you perfectly happy on a new perfect earth. You will not reach that goal in your own strength. Blessing means that God’s power makes you realize that goal.
