The goal of your sermon for 1 Samuel 25 is to show us our need for a perfect king and prepare us to hear God’s truth from the lips of fellow believers. Despite his desire for vengeance, David is an example to us because he repents and listens to God’s truth when it comes to him. This was no small matter and it will help God’s people if you can prepare them to do the same.
1 Now Samuel died. And all Israel assembled and mourned for him, and they buried him in his house at Ramah.
