1. Exposition

What were the three conditions that Rahab had to meet in order for the oath to be binding?

Joshua 2:18–19 (ESV)

18 Behold, when we come into the land, you shall tie this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and you shall gather into your house your father and mother, your brothers, and all your father’s household.

The spies gave Rahab three conditions: (1) she must tie a scarlet cord on her window, (2) she must bring her family into her house and (3), she not tell anyone about the spies and thereby keep their movements a secret.1
