1. Matthew 13:12 (ESV)
  2. Eksposisi

What does it mean that the one who has will be given more while the one who has not will have what he has taken away?

Matthew 13:12 (ESV)

12 For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

Secara singkat

Those who have (Matthew 13:12) are those who are receptive to the truth of the gospel, and who have made its truths their own, as the first disciples did. These believers will be greatly rewarded. Those who have not are the Jews, which by an outwardly and merely apparent religious knowledge have closed their hearts off to the truth. Speaking in parables is a punishment for unbelievers, but a reward for the disciples, who are being led ever deeper into the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God. In this way Jesus fulfills the will of God spoken of in Matthew 13:11. It is also a spiritual law that he who uses the gifts of God in the right way, and keeps in his heart the light and the grace that he has received, will get even more from the Lord, but those who neglect their opportunities and have no love for the truth will lose what little they have.
