Cain’s genealogy extends to some man named Lamech, the seventh from Adam (for the contrast, see Jude 1:14–16). The contrast between the woman’s seed and the serpent’s seed (see Genesis 3:15 and Genesis 4:6, Genesis 4:15) is becoming more and more apparent, growing into a chasm.
