What does 2 Peter 3:1-7 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (the work of the Son)? Jesus Christ is both Lord and Saviour. He is the one who enables us to be part of God’s kingdom so that we are not destroyed on the day of judgment when he returns in glory. We can be part of God’s kingdom only because Christ has perfectly obeyed God in our place and on our behalf. His whole life being an example of wholesome thinking in action. We can be spared judgment because Christ was judged in our place and on our behalf. When he died on the cross he bore the wrath of God against our sin so that we do not have to face judgment when he returns.
