The Lord has a different perception of time than we have. The Lord is not bound by time as we are. He is the Creator, the one who was and is and is to come. He made time and exists outside of time. Surely we can understand therefore that his sense of time is different to our own? What we might consider to be quick (given our lifespans) could be slow to him. Likewise, what we consider to be slow might seem fast to him.
As humans, we are dependent on time, we measure things in days, weeks, and years and as a result we project our understanding onto God as if he should think the same way we do. However, we must remember that we have been made in God’s image, he has not been made in ours. He is utterly different from us.
8 Mais il est une chose, bien-aimés, que vous ne devez pas ignorer, c'est que, devant le Seigneur, un jour est comme mille ans, et mille ans sont comme un jour.
