What does 2 Peter 2:17-22 reveal about what God does in and through me (the work of the Holy Spirit)? God the Holy Spirit wants me to see the deceptive nature of false teachers and to realize that they are not true believers in Christ. He does not want me to be caught in their boastful traps. Through this warning, he encourages me to be careful how I listen to those that seek to teach God’s Word. He also encourages me to pursue godly living (2 Peter 1:5–11) no matter what other believers might say.
