Many of us were already from our births called by God to be his special people! Right away we were baptized—and God ensured that we heard about his love and grew up in a church in which his love was proclaimed to us. All along we received special benefits from him compared to so many people around us. Do you see how it is so much worse for us to become ungodly as compared to others? We might do the same as those around us, but then our God is especially displeased with us! It makes sense.
