In keeping with the goal of Mark’s Gospel, your sermon must answer the questions, Who is Jesus?
and Why did he come?
Regarding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ you must explain that this was the work which the Messiah came to do: suffer, die, and rise. The focus of the crucifixion of Jesus is on what he achieved through his death on the cross. You must be very clear that Jesus’ death was payment for the sins of God’s people.
