Commentary on Luke 6:48 (Summary)

Luc 6:48 (NEG79)

Whoever takes the teachings of Jesus seriously lays a solid foundation under the house of life. It can withstand a lot of storms and downpour. If you have everything that Jesus mentions as a foundation, you stand firm in the storm. Laying that foundation takes time and effort, but it pays off, because the house does not collapse. Outside of the comparison is that when we strive to live up to the teachings of our Lord, we eventually have an eternal home (see 2 Corinthians 5:1). The one who builds on Jesus builds indestructibly.
