What does 2 Peter 2:1-3 reveal about what God does in and through me (the work of the Holy Spirit)? God the Holy Spirit helps me to be on my guard against false teaching and submit to Christ as Lord. As I grow in my knowledge of Scripture, he makes me more and more attentive to false doctrine, so that I am not taken in by those who seek to exploit God’s people in their greed. He also works in my heart so that when I am confronted with truth that challenges me, I will submit to God’s Word and grow in obedience to him. Finally he also encourages me to know that if I belong to Christ, then I have been doubly bought and I do not have to fear condemnation on the day of judgment.
