In 2 Peter 1:5-11, the apostle begins with a list of virtues (2 Peter 1:5–7) followed by an encouragement to pursue these virtues and thus to be kept from being ineffective. There is a promise that those who live in obedience to God will not fall but receive a rich welcome into God’s eternal kingdom.
