We see the image of a race or a fight more often in the New Testament, for example, with Paul: 1 Corinthians 9:24–27; Philippians 2:16; Philippians 3:12–14; 1 Timothy 1:18; 1 Timothy 6:12; 2 Timothy 4:7–8.
