  2. Structure et plan

The way in which Revelation 14:14–20 links to the preceding paragraph

Apocalypse 14:14–20 (NEG79)

14 Je regardai, et voici, il y avait une nuée blanche, et sur la nuée était assis quelqu'un qui ressemblait à un fils d'homme, ayant sur sa tête une couronne d'or, et dans sa main une faucille tranchante.

In the present verses the phrase “another angel” appears three times (Revelation 14:15, Revelation 14:17–18). The preceding paragraph had also used the phrase “another angel” three times (Revelation 14:6, Revelation 14:8–9). That parallel links these two passages. Further, the present paragraph begins with the vision of Jesus Christ carrying a sharp sickle (Revelation 14:14). The three angels of Revelation 14:6–13 had called all the earth to repentance; in Revelation 14:14–20 Jesus Christ with his angels takes in the harvest that developed from that call. Whereas the activities of Revelation 14:6–13 characterize the entire New Testament era, the harvest described in Revelation 14:14–20 direct our attention to the end of the present age.
