Because we are limited and imperfect, we need to gain a wide, deep, and true perspective before we put plans into action, especially when our plans involve challenging some enemy. The way we gain this perspective is by humbly seeking the wise and godly counsel of others, which presupposes that we know and have cultivated friendships with such counsellors. Above all, of course, the Lord is our best counsellor (Isaiah 9:6), who enables us to find and recognize godly allies.
