Hosea 1:10-2:1 is quoted in the New Testament in Romans 9:26 and also in 1 Peter 2:10. There is something special in these quotations: Paul and Peter relate these words to the calling of the Gentiles! They were Lo‑Ammi, not God’s people
in the most literal sense. Israel had apparently also fallen to that level here in Hosea. But whether you are a Jew or a Gentile by birth, you only live on God’s giving and forgiving love. He cleanses your sins and renews you completely.
