Private social dinners form another point of contact with unbelievers. Already in 1 Corinthians 10:27 Paul assured his readers that it is not wrong to have meals with unbelievers. It may happen that the meat served at such a meal is leftover meat from a sacrifice. If this is not specifically pointed out, the Christian is free to eat it. As with meat sold on the meat market, it is not a matter of the meat itself, but of the (unbeliever’s) conscience.
27 Si un non-croyant vous invite et que vous vouliez aller, mangez de tout ce qu'on vous présentera, sans vous enquérir de rien par motif de conscience.
