Paul cites (the Septuagint version of) Psalm 24:1. From later Jewish writings we know that this psalm was customarily used as a prayer of thanksgiving before meals.
All food, including all meat, is a gift from the Lord for which he should be thanked (see also 1 Timothy 4:4).
