Finally, Paul became weak
to the weak. Here, he is not referring to believers who are weak in the faith (as in 1 Corinthians 8:1–13). He refers to people who have a low social position, and who must still be won for Christ (compare 1 Corinthians 1:26–28).
In this regard, we can think of Paul’s work as a manual labourer. Besides being physically demanding, this work would also associate him with the lower classes of society.
