In Hebrews, it is mentioned several times that we live in a “better” covenant. It is better because of the work of Jesus Christ (see e.g. Hebrews 8:6: “it is enacted on better promises”). It also speaks more strongly to us because of the resurrection of Christ. In the resurrection of Christ we have seen what Abraham did not see. He reasoned that there was the possibility that God could raise his son. For us today the resurrection is a reality in Christ. We now believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord (Romans 4:24–25).
