This text says so much about what faith is. The background is the life of Enoch who pleased God. And why did he please God? Because in his faith he wanted to be close to the Lord (Psalm 25:14). He wanted to love him. The Lord likes it when we do not behave like slaves anymore but come close to him as his children and say “Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15).
