In line with what Hebrews 11:5 says about faith, the author of Hebrews writes about faith more generally in Hebrews 11:6. He does it to encourage his readers who (like Enoch) were persecuted because of their faith. It is interesting that Hebrews does not focus on Enoch’s walking with God (in Genesis 5:1–32) but rather on pleasing God.
1 This is because the Greek translation of the Old Testament uses that word, but it is also to encourage the readers of this book with God’s love for them.
