  2. Explication du texte

Do these survivors of the great tribulation experience any wrath from God?

Apocalypse 7:15–16 (NEG79)

15 C'est pour cela qu'ils sont devant le trône de Dieu, et le servent jour et nuit dans son temple. Celui qui est assis sur le trône dressera sa tente sur eux;

Because God is their shelter, these multitude shall no longer experience hunger or thirst, nor shall the sun strike them or any scorching heat bother them. It is precisely such difficulties that bothered them as the plagues of God were unleashed on earth (Revelation 6:3–17) and more such ills would be announced in coming visions. But now, with words borrowed from Isaiah 49:10 and Psalm 121:6, the elder tells John what this great multitude—of which John himself and his readers would one day be a part—would experience before the throne. Instead of the fear and panic of Revelation 6:15–17, there is safety and peace.
