Amos 1:1–2 (NEG79)

One possible connection between Amos 1:1–2 and the work of Jesus Christ can be found in Revelation 5:1–10. In John’s vision we are told about the Lion of the tribe of Judah who is also the Lamb of God that was slain (Revelation 5:5–6). The Lord who roars like a lion is also the Lord who bleats like a lamb. Jesus Christ is the Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God. Through his death he secured the redemption of all those who trust in him. For them (Christian believers) the roar of the lion that announces judgment and death has been turned into a bleating promise of forgiveness and grace.
