These proverbs speak of those who are innocently condemned to death. Do we as believers use the opportunities that God gives us to stop such injustice? Think of the massacres of unborn babies in countries where abortion has been legalized. Will we close our eyes and say, “But we knew nothing about this”? God will certainly not accept such excuses from his church.
When millions of Jews were being captured and murdered under the Nazi regime, there were only a few Christians in Germany who had the courage to stand up and protest. Afterwards the excuse was often heard: “We knew nothing!” But God knows the truth and he stands as the final judge.
