In Revelation 5 the Lamb is enthroned with God-given authority to open the seals of the scroll. In following chapters John records what happens when the Lamb actually begins to break the seals locking the scroll. The scene of Revelation 5, then, is vital for understanding the details revealed in the following chapters.
