This kingdom, in its initial form here on earth, includes what does not truly belong to it. It is hard to say what is meant by this. We may think of hangers-on, of institutions that call themselves Christian and may even advance the cause of Christ, yet are not truly Christian at heart. We can also think of all who are half-hearted, who do not radically break with the world, with the dominion of Satan. In short, these are all who do not fear the Lord with all of their heart. In an ordinary human harvest, the weeds are removed from the wheat and burned. So it will also be when the ages are fulfilled and pass into other ages: the kingdom of heaven will then stand pure before the face of God (see also 2 Corinthians 11:2, about the church).
God has given the judgment over to the Son of Man (see Matthew 8:20; John 5:22–27), so Jesus also speaks of his angels removing the law-breakers from the kingdom in Matthew 13:41.
In the kingdom of heaven, as it works here on earth in its initial form, there enters what does not truly belong to it by nature. It is not easy to define precisely what is meant by this. We may think of hangers-on, of institutions that call themselves Christian and may even advance the cause of Christ, yet are not truly Christian at heart. In this regard we can also think of everything that is half-hearted, that does not radically break with the world—that is, with the dominion of Satan. In short, these are all who do not fear the Lord with all of their heart. In an ordinary human harvest, the weeds are removed from the wheat and burned. So it will also be when the ages are fulfilled and pass into other ages: the kingdom of heaven will then stand pure before the face of God (see also 2 Corinthians 11:2 regarding the church).1
God has given the entire judgment over to the Son of Man (see Matthew 8:20; John 5:22–27). This is why Jesus also speaks of his angels removing the law-breakers from his kingdom in Matthew 13:41.2
