What do the weeds growing among the wheat signify?

Matthieu 13:27–29 (NEG79)

27 Les serviteurs du maître de la maison vinrent lui dire: Seigneur, n'as-tu pas semé une bonne semence dans ton champ? D'où vient donc qu'il y a de l'ivraie?

En bref

The weeds among the wheat show Satan’s dark deeds, always known to the Master, but the servants, thinking that the mixed state of the kingdom is wrong, want to rid the field of weeds. But the master, to preserve the good seed (Matthew 13:29), endures the enemy’s interference, like a man who, while waiting for the harvest, accepts suffering in the meantime.

The dark deeds of the evil one, which are never hidden from the Master. Yet the servants think that the mixed state of the kingdom is wrong and want to rid the field of weeds. They imagine the field ought to look different. But the master has another perspective: his priority is to preserve the good seed (Matthew 13:29). And so for that reason, he endures the enemy’s interference. In this way, the kingdom of heaven is like a man who patiently waits for the harvest and accepts suffering in the meantime.1
