Our translation has already used this word in Nehemiah 5:1, leading us to assume that the Hebrew is also the same word. That, however, is not the case. The term used here (though a synonym of the word used in Nehemiah 5:1) denotes a cry arising from a deeply disturbed heart, which is to be expected given the helplessness (and ensuing hopelessness) described in the previous verse.
