What is remarkable about Philippians 1:12–26?

Philippiens 1:12–26 (NEG79)

12 Je veux que vous sachiez, frères, que ce qui m'est arrivé a plutôt contribué aux progrès de l'Evangile.

It is remarkable to see how in this passage about captivity, joy constitutes the basis, particularly the joy over the progress of the gospel (Philippians 1:12–18). This is a lasting joy in the present: “And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice” (Philippians 1:18). In Philippians 1:19–26, Paul expands on his views regarding life and death. Here again we encounter the same emphasis on peace and joy, now focused on the future, an emphasis that will remain no matter what may happen to him.1
