The sound of Nebuchadnezzar’s invading army is described vividly as the stamping of hooves of his stallions,
and the rushing of his chariots
with their "rumbling wheels”. This sound is so terrifying that fathers look not back to their children, so feeble are their hands
. Fathers are so paralyzed by fear that they are unable to even save their own children.
