Haggai (Aggée) 2:7 (ESV)

7 And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts.

It is not just the natural world that will be shaken (Haggai 2:6). The Lord adds, And I will shake all nations. The Lord’s appearing will affect the peoples of the earth. How? Haggai 2:7 continues, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in. The wealth of the nations—the tribute, the precious metals—will be brought to Jerusalem, enhancing the physical glory of the restored temple. This part of Haggai 2:7 needs to be taken with Haggai 2:8, The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. He will use the incoming treasures, all of which are his anyway, to adorn his house.
