He firmly believes that Jesus can generate life simply by putting his hand on Jairus’ daughter. In fact, he does not even ask for a laying on of hands but only for one hand—a mere gesture will suffice. By means of his actions Jairus’ faith is revealed as one that expects Jesus to grant life even to the dead.1
