1 Kings 14:17 gives us the last view of Jeroboam’s wife. We still do not know her name, and no word of hers was recorded in this episode. She left Ahijah’s residence and returned to Tirzah, which was then serving as the capital of the kingdom. Simultaneous to her entering the town, her son died. The whole of the kingdom mourned for him as he was buried.
As we read this, we see that the Word of God is proved in its accuracy. The writer makes certain that we understand this truth. It is one of the marks by which we know that Ahijah is a true prophet, and really speaks the Word of God. The word that proceeds from God is as sure of the fulfilment of which it speaks.
17 La femme de Jéroboam se leva, et partit. Elle arriva à Thirtsa; et, comme elle atteignait le seuil de la maison, l'enfant mourut.
