Because Lamentations 4:3–5 refers to literal children, it is suggested that the sons of Zion
also refer in the same way also to literal children.1 However, the usage of the term sons
is not always exclusively a reference to children. As an example, see Zechariah 9:13.2 It is also evident from the context that the following verses refer to other people groups that should be included in this understanding.`
