More than once, Jeremiah has described how the Lord’s judgment of Judah will end all the sounds of joy and celebration in the land (Jeremiah 7:34; Jeremiah 16:9; Jeremiah 25:10). That judgment is now reversed and songs of thanksgiving, and the voices of those who celebrate
will once again come from Jerusalem1.
