Nehemiah (Néhémie) 3:28 (ESV)

28 Above the Horse Gate the priests repaired, each one opposite his own house.

The Horse Gate is mentioned in 2 Kings 11:16 and 2 Chronicles 23:15 as part of the royal palace where it connected to the temple complex. On the assumption that the Horse Gate Nehemiah mentions is this same gate, it follows that the wall repair now being described has progressed to a point adjacent to (the ruins of) Solomon’ palace. His palace was located just south of the temple (the temple being built at the northern end of the oval-shaped city of Jerusalem).
