1. Romains 15:8 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

In what sense was Christ a servant for the circumcised?

Romains 15:8 (NEG79)

8 Je dis, en effet, que Christ a été serviteur des circoncis, pour prouver la véracité de Dieu en confirmant les promesses faites aux pères,

Christ was there with his disciples for all the people of Israel: Christ became a servant to the circumcised (Romans 15:8). Although many rejected and slandered him (Romans 15:3), he did not flee to another country nor did he shut himself up within the circle of his disciples. He continued to seek the good for the people as a whole and presented himself as servant to all. In the same way the Christians in Rome are called to glorify the Creator with one unified voice and thereby be a light in the darkness of the capital city, that is, as a power of God in a powerless world.1
