It seems that Thomas is the spokesperson for the entire group. Incidentally, this reaction is particularly fitting for him. Having courage and faith does not come natural to him. Seeing is the key to his approach to life (see John 20:24–25; also John 11:16). Yet, he is not detached from Jesus. After all, he uses the term kyrie meaning Lord.
He continues to expect things from his master, no matter how much his faith in Jesus' words may waver.
