1. Ésaïe 50:9 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

What will happen to those who oppose the Servant?

Isaiah (Ésaïe) 50:9 (ESV)

9 Behold, the Lord GOD helps me; who will declare me guilty? Behold, all of them will wear out like a garment; the moth will eat them up.

The Servant says that those who would declare him guilty will all wear out like a garment; the moth will eat them up. What he means is that by a gradual process they will waste away, becoming as threadbare and useless1 as a worn-out garment, filled with moth holes. For all who fight with the Word of God shall fall and vanish away through their own frailty.2
