What does “adversary” mean?

Isaiah (Ésaïe) 50:8 (ESV)

8 He who vindicates me is near. Who will contend with me? Let us stand up together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near to me.

Literally, the Servant speaks of the accuser of my judgment. He is referring to the opponent who is attempting to be the master in the lawsuit. Yet the Servant is fully confident that with the help of his vindicator, his defense lawyer, no opponent even has a case.1
