1. Ésaïe 50:7 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

Is there a difference between “not disgraced” and “not put to shame”?

Isaiah (Ésaïe) 50:7 (ESV)

7 But the Lord GOD helps me; therefore I have not been disgraced; therefore I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame.

The two verbs to disgrace and to (not) be put to shame are basically synonyms. This Servant, even though he was set up for ridicule, will not be shamed for his choice to trust and obey the Lord.1
