1. Ésaïe 50:6 (NEG79)
  2. Explication du texte

What makes the Servant’s commitment to his assignment all the more remarkable?

Isaiah (Ésaïe) 50:6 (ESV)

6 I gave my back to those who strike, and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard; I hid not my face from disgrace and spitting.

It is all the more remarkable that the Servant was not rebellious (Isaiah 50:5) when it is plain that included in his assignment was his sufferings. His obedience in administering the word of God had to include suffering, something not mentioned in the previous Servant passages.
