David has already said that he has held fast to the Lord’s paths, which implies stability in his steps. The purpose of this second clause in the verse, therefore, is to offer further evidence of David’s faithful observance of the teachings of the Lord. In contrast to his opponents, he has not wavered from the ways of the Lord; his stated integrity is on account of his living out the will of the Lord every step. 1
5 My steps have held fast to your paths; my feet have not slipped.
