What does 2 Samuel 7:1–17 reveal about what God the Holy Spirit does in and through me?
God the Holy Spirit helps me to read the Old Testament as a story that prepares me for the coming of the ideal Davidic king. He helps me to see how all of the Old Testament points forward to Jesus. He also helps me to sing the songs which God has given to us in his Word. Additionally, the Spirit works a true faith in my heart so that I have confidence in Jesus’ work of atonement, trusting him alone to be my Saviour and helping me to wait with expectation for his future return in glory.
