What does 2 Samuel 5 reveal about who God the Father is?
God speaks: he told David that he would be a shepherd for his people (2 Samuel 5:2). He responds to David’s requests for direction (2 Samuel 5:19, 2 Samuel 5:23–24).
God sees: the covenant with the elders is made before the Lord (2 Samuel 5:3).
God is with his King: David becomes stronger because of the Lord’s help (2 Samuel 5:10).
God is Almighty: he has infinite power (2 Samuel 5:10). He breaks out against the Philistines to defeat them (2 Samuel 5:20, 2 Samuel 5:24).
God cares for his people: David is established as king so as to do good for the people of Israel (2 Samuel 5:12).
