No, for when the apostle Paul boldly proclaims that all things work together for good,
he does not mean that all suffering here on earth is necessarily good in itself. Rather, he indicates that all everything in the lives of God’s children, both good and evil, are directed towards their good, their glorification, and bringing them in the presence of the Holy One. God’s predestination also encompasses all suffering of this time, as Paul would continue to explain in Romans 8:31–39.1
